PLOT ENGAGEMENT ◎

PLOT ENGAGEMENT
Player plot and personal plot ideas that you wish to submit for approval or workshop with us go here! Comments are screened by default in case of information and future plots players may want to keep secret until they are revealed, but we will unscreen comments upon player request.

Plot engagement can be a great way to gain influence in-game if it's a plot that will bring characters into the public eye or catch the attention of territory leaders. Not all plots need to involve the territories! Plots can be about the magic of Abraxas or a personal discovery involving the Singularity.

This post is for proposing player-run plots and character plots. If you have a question about an event, please ask under the event post's Questions header. If you have a question about the game as a whole, see the FAQ.

Plot Engagement is currently OPEN.

If you're requesting an interaction with the Singularity, you can disregard the provided form and simply let us know some basic details. We will answer you with a set of questions to guide you.

Getting Started
Our role is to workshop your ideas and offer you suggestions. Please give us something to work with when submitting a plot engagement so that we can best help you get started. If you're unsure of where to start or don't have any ideas yet, we recommend looking at our latest event posts for some inspiration or getting involved with plots other players are running.
◎ Examples
  • You want your character to interact with an NPC, whether by seeking out the NPC deliberately or taking an action that might draw attention to them from said NPC.
  • You have a goal for your character to reach, but aren't sure how to make it happen or the requirements you need to meet. This largely applies to goals that will impact your character's standing with locals and/or officials or goals that will affect the game, player base, and/or setting in some manner. Contained plots between characters don't need our approval unless you feel it might ICly get out of hand or involve world-specific lore, NPCs, or other game elements that would require mod input.
  • You'd like something to happen to your character. This can be a farming accident, a lead-in to them being arrested, being the target of bandits, or more. Keep in mind characters will need to initiate an action to proceed, whether that's following their curiosity, exercising poor judgment, or losing control of their powers. We cannot make something happen to your character without them having taken steps to narratively set up a scenario.
  • Your character will take an action that might get them killed or that you otherwise don't want them to succeed at. We can help you plot ideas using the game setting or NPCs to prevent your character from reaching their goal.
The above are just some samples to get you started. The world is your oyster! While we can't guarantee that every proposed plot can go exactly as you envision, we'll do our best to make sure any alternative solutions we offer are equally rewarding.
◎ Guidelines
  • Characters must be active in-game for at least 30 days before submitting a plot proposal. This is to make sure we have a good sense of your character's status and position in-game before we help you formulate a plan.
  • The Summoned were chosen for their skills and abilities, but trust and goodwill must be earned and will influence the feasibility of a character's goal. This is especially true for goals that will require the support of the territory leaders or locals.
  • Involvement in multiple types of plots can lead to conflict. If your character is attempting to lead a territory project but is also involved in supplying information to a rebel movement, it's likely they'll need to choose their alignment or face the consequences of playing both sides.
  • Please limit plots to one at a time in cases where your character is a main part of the plot proposal. Secondary involvement in multiple plots at once is fine. For ongoing long-term plots (2+ months), you may submit a second plot request after a month or two. We won't be too strict about the timeframe since we want to encourage players who are enthusiastic to get involved. However, we also want to give everyone equal attention for their plots and spreading out your requests will help us do that!
Submission Form
The form below is for your convenience, but is optional to use. If you have your own proposal write up, feel free to go ahead and post that.
