I'm intending to apply Crane to the Free Cities and I'm wondering: do psychology and psychiatry exist as fields of study?

Setting information mentions an industrial revolution stage of development. Interest in the human mind and behavior has always existed but both subjects didn't exist till years later.

Just wondering whether Crane would be bringing in something new! Potentially also how he might be viewed as a result. Am flexible either way.
