There are many different gods (around 20-30) that are proven to exist, although the first recorded sightings of these gods only happened about three thousand years ago when Thorne's history goes back much longer than that. The names of these gods have been scrubbed from Thornean history, too, replaced with generic descriptors like "Harvest Deity" or "Sun Deity". These gods are not omnipotent and some of them have even been killed, and they are primarily worshiped in Solvunn or by smaller religious groups around the world.

Thorne used to worship (or at least highly regard) the gods, but that changed centuries ago. Now most of them still regard the Singularity itself as god-like to some extent, but have discarded the gods themselves. Thorne in the present day is mostly academic rather than religious; they believe they can figure out how it works and restore the power they once had (the areas currently under the control of Solvunn and the Free Cities once belonged to Thorne). There are still a few people in Thorne who worship the gods, but the gods themselves haven't been seen in Thorne for a long time.

The Free Cities are officially "atheists" (they know the gods exist but would rather reduce their power or get rid of them). They have a very diverse population, though, so all sorts of people can be found there.

The people of Endsmuth worship the Singularity but believe that it is here to test the world and that anyone using its magic has failed that test. They are regarded as a cult and almost no one in Thorne will have a single kind word to say about them.

In Nocwich, the sorcerer who cast the eternal night spell is regarded as a god that will return someday to drive the Fey away from their old territory and restore peace.

Murmurings of a doomsday cult may be heard around the castle, but no one knows much about them.
