It would be possible for her to lose her access to Abraxan magic and for her state of mind as a result to interfere with her ability to enter the Horizon! The reason behind it could be either an offshoot of how the Summoned temporarily lose their powers when first entering Abraxas or it could be a mental block as you suggested. The same reasoning could be used for her to eventually regain her magic in the future.
