Thanks! Yes, I did understand Academic Magic is mostly stable, I think it's a preference of the character who sometimes uses sign-language. When you say 'more advanced technique', if I wanted to have Gale try to look into learning on her behalf to see how difficult it would be [ with the OOC understanding it might be harder for Heather to learn from him and take longer ] how long would it take him to get to a point where he could be learning this sort of thing? Obviously he has a solid footing as a wizard to begin with, but I wasn't sure if that would allow him to do this faster -- I just want to pace him realistically!
